Foundation House is governed by an elected
voluntary Committee of Management of 12 members with diverse
backgrounds, professional expertise and interests.
The Agency Management Team, comprising the Director, Paris Aristotle and senior
managers, works closely with the Committee of Management to continuously develop
the strategic approach and innovative work program of Foundation House.
In addition to its 9 formal meetings per year, the Committee of Management regularly
forms working groups to undertake specific governance and other projects, and
members generously give of their time and networks to support and promote Foundation
House.
The Committee of Management currently includes the following
members:
Lynne Haultain (Chair) has been a member
of the Committee since 1997 and Chairperson since 2000. Lynne brings to the organisation a background
in media, communications and radio broadcasting.
Helen Casey (Deputy Chair) has extensive
experience as a director/board member of statutory, union
and superannuation organisations. She currently works as
an education and training consultant for the Victorian Department
of Education and Training, and is a qualified interpreter
and mediator.
Michelle Groves (Deputy Chair) is the Chief
Executive of the Australian Energy Regulator and brings a
legal and management background to her work on the Committee.
Michael Kane (Treasurer and Public Officer) has
worked for twenty-five years in finance and management related
positions and is currently the Business Manager of the Windana
Society. Michael has been involved in the not-for-profit
sector on a pro-bono basis for many years.
Genevieve Timmons (Secretary) has 15 years
of experience with grantmaking and philanthropic foundations,
as an executive manager, consultant and researcher both in
Australia and internationally. Genevieve is a Senior
Fellow of the Johns Hopkins International Fellows in Philanthropy Program, and
a Fellow of Leadership Victoria.
Kathleen Walsh is the
Executive Director ofWomen's Health in
the North. She has wide experience working
with refugee communities and programs particularly through
her former role as manager of the Australian Red Cross Tracing
and Refugee Program.
Tim Barnett is a Senior
Corporate Business Analyst. In 2002, Tim
undertook an Executive Placement with the
VFST on a voluntary basis through the Skills
Exchange and Learning Program (SEAL). Based
in Sydney, Tim regularly travels to Melbourne
to participate in the Committee of Management.
Dick Sloman is a long
time member and supporter of the VFST.
He currently holds a position on the VFST's
Institutional Ethics Committee. Dick is a GP and a specialist
in the area of aboriginal health
David Bilander is an electronic engineer
and software developer and a long time member of the VFST.
He joined the Committee at the end of 2004. His extensive
travel overseas has led to a heightened motivation and commitment
to making an active contribution to the work of the Foundation.
Teresa Zolnierkiewicz is Head of Philanthropy
Partners at ANZ Trustees. She joined the Committee
at the end of 2004. Teresa has a background in education,
journalism and business. In her present role she develops
and runs grant giving programs and administers 230 charitable
foundations enabling them to most effectively support community
organisations. Teresa's parents arrived in Australia as refugees. She
values the support Foundation House provides to all new arrivals
so that they feel that a safe secure and prosperous future
is within their grasp.
Ian McKenzie has 40 years experience in the communication field and is a specialist in photography and cinematography. Ian's photography talent and dedicated pro bono support of Foundation House work resulted in the very beautiful calendars which were produced in 2003 and 2004. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Photography and has broad interests in travel, film and publishing.
Lenora Lippmann joined the Committee in 2008. She is a team
leader at General Practice Victoria and has worked with VFST
on a variety of projects since 1998. Lenora brings to the
organisation a background in service evaluation, planning
and management and extensive experience in the health sector.
